Finally! Sammi Cheng won her first best actress honor from Hong Kong Film Awards!

Finally! After 10 nominations in over 20 years, Sammi Cheng finally won her first ever best actress honor from the prestigious Hong Kong Film Awards. The 41st Hong Kong Film Awards which is often known as the Hong Kong equivalent to the American Academy Awards was held a moment ago (16th April 2023) to honor the best in Hong Kong films released last year (2022).

Those who knew me must have been well aware that I’m a fan of Sammi Cheng. She is my favourite idol. She enjoyed immense success in Hong Kong music industry from 1990s till now and is regarded as Cantopop queen/diva. However, the same success cannot be replicated for her involvement in acting industry as her acting in close to 40 films in nearly 3 decades do not appear to receive significant recognition.

All that changes this year with multiple local film awards honoring her with best actress honor from her performance in 2022 film ‘Lost Love’. In the film, she portrayed a grieving mother who lost her 3-year old son to illness and decided to devote herself to foster children with her husband. I watched the film last weekend when I was back in KL and I’m indeed moved by her performance.

After all the hard work switching from her signature early works in romance-comedy movies back in early 2000s to more drama films in later years, her effort finally paid off. For her impressive performance in this film, she had so far swept 4 best actress honors from Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards, Hong Kong Directors’ Guild Awards, Hong Kong Online Film Critics Highlight Awards and the most recent 41st Hong Kong Film Awards in 2023.

She had been very emotional during her acceptance speech just now. She had waited over 20 years for this and it is finally in her hand. Also can feel her immense joy near the end of her speech. Very well deserved. She is now Hong Kong music queen and film queen. An astonishing feat! It is also a beautiful moment when she received this award from her frequent film co-star, Andy Lau who is the evening’s guest presenter for best actress award. What a nice arrangement for him to present this award to Sammi. She had also won ‘best original film song’ earlier at the awards ceremony for her song ‘Live a Life’ in the same film.

Well, I hope her film ‘Lost Love’ will be able to contend at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards near end of this year and also at next year’s Asian Film Awards so that she can go on a winning streak. What a good news for her and also for me. It gives me a much needed ‘feel good moment’ at this period of time when I was seriously feeling very down.

There are actually quite a number of past films where she delivered brilliant performances too but didn’t seem to have the luck to win major awards back then. Those films are ‘Wu Yen’, ‘My Left Eye Sees Ghost’, ‘Everlasting Regret’, ‘Blind Detective’, ‘Fatal Visit’, and ‘Fagara’. I also particularly enjoyed her funny light-hearted roles in ‘Love on a Diet’, ‘Needing You’, ‘Love for all Seasons’ and ‘Marry a Rich Man’. There is no doubt her acting isn’t always the best, sometimes feeling not natural and often her ‘superstar image’ sticks around her making audiences felt like she couldn’t able to dissolve into the characters. However, she had truly improved a lot over the years and is certainly overdue for a recognition. And her well deserved recognition finally comes today.

She will be holding her concert at Hong Kong’s Coliseum at this coming July. I do have a wish to watch it. I have watched her past concerts (I think twice) at Malaysia’s Genting Highlands but I have the desire to watch her performing at her home turf on 4-sided stage at Coliseum. It would be a wonderful experience.

Fall sick before trip again…and on the other hand, a quick review on a TVB drama ‘Love as a Predatory Affair’.

I would be flying with my parents to Australia this weekend for our once-in-a-year vacation for the Chinese New Year break. Two more days and I would be heading to the airport for flight to Australia, the country that I have not visited before. I should be very excited by now for the trip but I just couldn’t. Why? I felt sick. I was having fever, cold and my throat is feeling very bad. The same illness that I caught before my trip to Singapore in Christmas two months ago. Why am I always falling sick before a vacation?

rcjnyoXcR

Well, if I’m to take it positively; it’s better to fall sick before a vacation rather than during a vacation. It would just destroy all the mood of being a happy tourist. Now, the only thing I hope is that I will recover soon enough before the trip starts with all the plenty of medicines I have to swallow in these few days. Anyway, I’m still looking forward to this upcoming trip since it is so costly and that I would be able to visit several famous landmarks over there in Sydney and Melbourne, like the Sydney Opera House, Eureka Tower, etc.

Recently, I have been catching up to a new TVB series called ‘Love as a Predatory Affair’ starring Kitty Yuen, Jason Chan, Samantha Ko, King Kong Lee, etc. This is the first TVB drama that I watched. It is currently airing but will finish with its 21st episode tomorrow. This series is about woman (Kitty Yuen) who is not good looking, short but had a very good personality and is a master in cooking. She had a good friend (Samantha Ko) who is very beautiful but doesn’t know how to cook. Both of them felt in love to the same guy (Jason Chan) who is helping his father to run a restaurant-chain business. They then knew each other and entangled themselves into multiple issues mostly in romance and friendship. There are several other smaller plots too in this storyline involving many other supporting characters.

Overall, I do enjoyed the series so far. There are many hilarious scenes that kept me entertained in almost all the episodes from plenty of awkward moments, funny dialogues, and interesting expressions. It’s been a long time since TVB last produced a series on cooking and so it’s nice to see this theme back from this drama. I understood that many skipped this series because it has a poor line-up of cast (not featuring any famous artists) but I think this is what makes the actors and the actresses in this series to act without pressure. Very natural performances from all of the cast especially from Kitty Yuen. Many hate Samantha Ko in this drama due to her annoying character, but to the haters out there; if her character isn’t like that in this series, then how can the story develops further? Think again before bashing out on someone who is merely portraying a role as required for the story. Out of 10 points, I rate ‘Love as a Predatory Affair’ a total of 7.3. A light-hearted romance comedy drama that is highly entertaining. Hmm…this is the first time I’m reviewing a drama even before it has finished airing. Well, there is only 2 more episodes left that we all haven’t watch out of the total of 21 episodes, and so I think I can basically review for this drama right now already.

Update- 7/2/2016: Just finished watching its final episode and I have to say that the ending is a bit too rushed without proper explanation to certain conclusions to the story. Also prefer for the series to have a proper closure rather than an open ending regarding the relationship between Kitty Yuen and Jason Chan in this drama. Anyway, my rating for this drama remains the same; 7.3.

Movie review: The Fault In Our Stars (2014)

Romance movie is usually not my cup of tea but I gave an exception to ‘The Fault In Our Stars’, a film released middle of the year and it is based on a novel of the same name. It’s certainly not a major high-budget film of the year, but it definitely scores big from critics across the world. The overwhelming positive reviews to this particular movie which had been regarded by many as being tear-jerker are what made me to give this film a chance.

fault-in-our-stars-landscape-poster

The film revolves on Hazel and Gus, two teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them on a journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous given that Hazel’s other constant companion is an oxygen tank, Gus jokes about his prosthetic leg, and they met and fell in love at a cancer support group (Source:IMDB). A saddening love story of two good-looking teenagers. But their story isn’t perfect like a fairy tale; it’s a heartbreaking one as both were cancer patients.

I don’t have nothing much to comment on this film actually. I just like the story. The incredible thing is that the love story didn’t gets me bored. I’m usually sick of romance story but for this one, I am touched by it. There is always some sort of moving or sentimental scenes throughout the movie that will give you no chance to complain when it is going to end. Of course, the movie isn’t just being so sad all along. There are some sweet moments of course and also some funny parts to give you a smile or two. Generally, the movie delivers quite successfully for being wise, funny and heartbreaking at the same time. That is not easy.

screen-shot-2014-03-21-at-12-17-09-pm

fault-in-our-stars-movie-clip

The script is good. Brilliant adapted screenplay. I am moved by some words or messages from the dialogues of the movie, eventhough some may needs time for audiences to digest. But to be honest with you, I’m not that literally touched so much by the movie that I cried. No tears. No lump in my throat. The film still lacks a bit of punch to elevate the sadness of which I think the main intention of the story is. Perhaps, this would only happens to over-emotional girls. But I heard that even boys were spotted crying in the cinema while watching this movie.

Nevertheless, this romantic comedy-drama film is still great in many aspects. Shailene Woodley delivered a wonderful heartfelt performance as Hazel. Ansel Elgort isn’t bad too as Gus, but he needs improvement. Well-written. Well-acted. Moving and romantic. And even entertaining to some point.  This is worth-watching. Out of 10 points, I rate ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ a total of 7.5. ‘The Fault in Our Stars’…What a nice title to this lovely story.

‘Outbound Love’, a Hong Kong series shot mostly in Malaysia.

‘Outbound Love’ is a 2014 TVB romantic comedy series of 22 episodes that starred Ruco Chan, Aimee Chan, Samantha Ko, Benz Hui, Mary Hon, Vivien Yeo, Tony Hung, Lin Xiawei, etc. What is the main reason that had me interested to watch this from the very beginning? The answer lies at this post’s title itself already. Principal filming of this series took place in two countries; Hong Kong of course, and the other one is Malaysia. Yes. That’s my country.

Overall, this series is very light-hearted. It all started when a travel agency employee, Law Sik Sik (Aimee) travels to Malaysia for work and encountered a playful tour guide, Luk Kung Zi (Ruco). She had a lot of misunderstanding and is always annoyed by his character until finally, she realized the good nature of this man. Then, love sparks as expected, and yup, another happy ending for a typical TVB drama.

Outbound Love

I will not write a long review of this series. I will just list down what are the pros and cons of this series in point form. Quick and straightforward to keep this short.

Pros:

1) Refreshing location of shooting. It’s nice to see new background for drama scenes. And Malaysia do offers great stuff as shown in this drama (mural paintings in Penang, KLCC, Pavilion KL, Batu Caves, durians as king of fruits, beach, Penang’s heritage town, etc) of which some elements are essential or linked to the story’s development. And sorry for those annoying BN flags everywhere as the time of this series’ shooting nears our country’s general election.

2) Ruco Chan as lead. He is known to portray strong acting skill, and he as the main lead here had no problem on carrying the series, or even helped to enhance the series. A very interesting character for him to take on, and he did it exceptionally well.

3) Many new faces in this series which can be good or bad. Luckily, the newbies managed to work on their character well too.

2402

Cons:

1) Lack of attention to details, particularly sense of geography. In a moment, the characters are at Penang, then the next scene shows that they are in KL. Distance between these two places are over 300 km. Also please be reminded that Malaysian Chinese seldom speak Malay among themselves. We will speak Chinese; Mandarin, Cantonese, or own Chinese dialects, or English, and last option would only be Malay Language).

2) There isn’t exactly any much drama going on throughout the series. No intensity. The storyline isn’t engaging. Quite boring at certain point.

3) Aimee Chan’s character. I know in the series that she had to get annoyed by Ruco’s character most of the time. However, her way of overdoing it, turns out makes me annoyed of her in the end. Her acting is still not solid or convincing enough as first female lead.

3 pros and 3 cons. Hence, I can only say that this series was just average. Not poor but also not great. Worth watching to spend your time every weekdays after work. Out of 10 points, I rate ‘Outbound Love’ a total of 6.5. A relaxing drama that disappointingly comes with not much drama. Luckily, the ending didn’t turns out bad and looks good, but things are a bit rushed to conclude the story as seen in the final episode.

Movie review: Warm Bodies (2013)

‘Warm Bodies’ is a zombie film uniquely different. It’s not of those typical movies of terrifying zombies running around craving for flesh, which is something quite of a horror for audiences. ‘Warm Bodies’ had a different approach; it focuses on the development of the relationship between Julie, a young woman, and “R”, a zombie, and how their eventual romance develops throughout which also leads to the group of zombies to change and return to human ‘life’ form. Overall, this movie can be categorized as a paranormal romantic zombie comedy film, which is based on a novel of the same name. This movie is released back on February this year and I only watched it just now.

WARM-BODIES-One-Sheet

It stars Nicholas Hoult as “R”, Teresa Palmer as Julie, and also Rob Corddry, Dave Franco, Analeigh Tipton and John Malkovich. This film certainly offers a sweet and interesting spin to a genre that all too often been really lifeless. The film is noted and positively received for displaying human characteristics in zombie characters, and also for being told from a zombie’s perspective. This allows the audiences to get ‘connected’ and engaged not only to the overall plot but also to ‘R’, the zombie. It is still grounded to ‘zombie-setting’ but overturned with a twist. The story went well paced and nicely directed with a bit of sense of humor added into this post-apocalyptic love story that made it certainly enjoyable to watch. This film is not violent or bloody and hence quite relevant to children too.

I first get to know Nicholas Hoult from his performance in ‘Jack The Giant Slayer’ released this year too and he delivered an amazing performance on that one. For this zombie film that requires a totally different acting approach, Nicholas done a great job too. As a zombie, he had to express himself tough through facial gestures and speak only one or two words out while maintaining his rigid crooked movement. His convincing performance here certainly cemented his position as one of the rising young talented stars. For female fans of him, he is ‘dead’ sexy in this one. Teresa Palmer also pour in amazing performance, and the two of them had quite a spark or good chemistry in this film.

warm-bodies_381711b

The movie also did offers heart-racing moments mostly on the encounter between the humans joining forces with the ‘cured’ zombies up against the Boneys, heartless skeleton corpses. However, all that exciting scenes are mostly reserved till the end part of the film and the lack of details put to the protagonists; Boneys’ creation (obviously computer-generated and looks too fake), made things not that impacting. However, the strong interesting love story of Julie and R saved the day. Out of 10 points, I rate ‘Warm Bodies’ a total of 7.4. Like what Palmer said; ‘the core of the story is that love breathes life back into people. That human connection saves us. People who have had those lights dimmed inside them, when they fall in love they get brighter.’ I certainly agreed with her statement. A good message from this film.

Movie review: I Love Hong Kong 2013

‘I Love Hong Kong 2013’ is a Hong Kong comedy film released on early February this year in conjunction with Chinese New Year and is the third film in ‘I Love Hong Kong’ film series. The first two in the series are some of the most entertaining lunar new year films I have ever watched. I remembered that I had a great laugh at the first two films in the series. When this third film was still on the theatrical run, I once had the desire to watch it with high anticipation. However, my sister came back with disappointing remark of the film and so I didn’t go for it that time.

aqWgFd6Vow9eEsSX2qThko3RTJp

Now, I recall back that I missed out this movie and it has been four months from its release already. I watched it finally. Quite a weird feeling because there is no more Chinese New Year mood around which should be present to further enjoy the movie. ‘I Love Hong Kong 2013’ tells the life story of best friends, Sung Chi Hung (old portrayed by Alan Tam, young portrayed by Bosco Wong) and Ha Shek Lam (old portrayed by Natalis Chan, young portrayed by Michael Tse), whom both felt in love with the same girl (old portrayed by Veronica Yip, young portrayed by Kate Tsui) and turned enemies later on while Sung tries to protect their Chinese restaurant from foul forces. The film also stars Eric Tsang, Chris Lai, Pierre Ngo, Joyce Cheng, Koo Ming Wah, Benz Hui, Wong Cho Lam, Stanley Fung, etc.

The story is strong and solid which carries quite a number of meaningful and positive messages to viewers. This time, the story emphasized on moral values, family bond, awkward romance and most of all the priceless friendship. Since the story covers quite a lot of things, the story has to progress and develop without the opportunity to explore on producing laughters to viewers like in previous two films in the series. It is similarly intended to be a comedy film, but ‘I Love Hong Kong 2013’ fails in this category. I only had a single laugh or two from this one. The rest, just typical story telling involving the great number of casts that save the day a little. Now, it’s not that entertaining anymore.

pc_600x450

It is disappointing to see a Chinese New Year movie as plain as this one. People are obviously looking for fun as soon as they decided to watch it, but this movie had almost nothing for it. The hairstyle design is intended to be funny, but I find it only ugly. If ‘I Love Hong Kong 2013’ is added with more hilarious moments, then  it would be great. Luckily, there is still the other Hong Kong lunar new year movie, ‘Hotel Deluxe’ that achieved the objective. I had a great time watching ‘Hotel Deluxe’ last time rather than this. Out of 10 points, I rate ‘I Love Hong Kong 2013’ a total of only 6.0. Not that entertaining and not that hilarious as expected!

Movie review: I Love Hong Kong 2012 (2012)

I had a very good expectation for this 2012 Chinese New Year film from Hong Kong’s TVB because of the first film of the same title released for last year’s Chinese New Year. I Love Hong Kong back in 2011 was a very entertaining and hilarious film, and I must say it is the best comedic film of the year 2011, making it easily to be the best of all the Chinese New Year films. Same goes to this year, with I Love Hong Kong 2012 set to top the list for the best Chinese New Year film, with an amazing box office hit and overwhelming positive response.

I have to say honestly, that it is far better than All’s Well Ends Well 2012, just like in last year when I Love Hong Kong is also better than All’s Well Ends Well 2011. Eventhough Sandra Ng had migrated from I Love Hong Kong last year to this year’s All’s Well Ends Well 2012, but with strong script and humour aspects delivered from I Love Hong Kong 2012, the latter still comes out very much successful and far more hilarious and entertaining than all the others. I Love Hong Kong 2012 still had a very strong line up of casts; Eric Tsang, Denise Ho, Teresa Mo, Evergreen Mak, Bosco Wong, William So and extra credit to the old man in the film, Stanley Fung. Despite getting very old already, Stanley Fung is the one that made all of us laugh the most from the movie. Many funny scenes from him are very memorable and outstanding. I also do very like the part where a spoof of a famous movie last year called ‘You Are The Apple Of My Eye’ is shown. Haha…that is the funniest part that even brought down tears from my eyes…eventhough I didn’t watch ‘You Are The Apple Of My Eye’, but I can seriously see the humour from it being adapted into ‘I Love Hong Kong 2012’. Absolutely fantastic!

Of course some time there is no logic to the funny stuff created from this movie, but who cares?! The most important thing is that all are able to make us laugh. And this movie did it pretty excellent. It is hardly any time in between for us to chill down and relax our mouth, because every scenes would definitely have something that would entertain you to the most. Now I find my mouth a bit tired of excessive laughing just now in the cinema, along with all the other audiences which I can see obvious similar responses from them. There are no boring moments. This movie is seriously fun, interesting and entertaining to watch. There are also some yellow-minded hilarious stuff from this movie. Take it lightly, as all that are meant for laughing purpose.

This movie in the end is not only for us to enjoy and laugh, there are also valuable messages we can learnt from this movie which also touches on the importance of family and love. No matter it’s going to be the end of the world in some days on the future or not, we should appreciate the time we had with our family and cherish the moments with our loved ones. All these are delivered in a much lighter and entertaining approach which is very brilliantly done. The performance by the casts is good, and it seems that there is no bad thing from this movie to talk about.

The movie had a very similar beginning and ending with ‘I Love Hong Kong’ back last year. However, everything now is delivered in a different style but still retaining a very huge amount of funny scenes for all of us to enjoy. Remember to stay till the last part after the credit has started showing because there is another portion of funny stuff awaiting you from Stanley Fung on his address as a news reporter, telling on false news regarding Hong Kong in a very hilarious manner. Out of 10 points, I would rate ‘I Love Hong Kong 2012’ a total of 8.0 out of 10. A very light, entertaining, interesting and hilarious movie best suited for a wonderful Chinese New Year in welcoming year of dragon in 2012.

Movie review: Love Is The Only Answer (2011)

I’m in the midst of watching movies that I have left out this year. Looking back at the number of Hong Kong films in 2011 that I have watched and adding it into full sum of all 2011 films that I have watched, I found out that I have missed ‘Love Is The Only Answer’. And so, it’s now the best time to watch it. For this film, I don’t even need to download it, as I had already straight away watched it from YouTube.

It is a Hong Kong film starring Alex Fong as Ryan whom is a playboy and after all the time with other girls, his love is still towards his wife, Bobo (Charmaine Sheh). The story revolves on the development of their relationship that went awful in their marriage that led to divorce immediately, but eventually bringing them back together. The message delivered from this film is that girls nowadays do not like perfect boy, but rather have interest on bad boys that contribute challenge to their love relationship. Okay..I can say that the message is clearly and brilliantly delivered throughout the film. The performance by the casts is really amazing and good.

The way the plot is told is very interesting; from a situation flashing back to what is actually the main story going on. It is a very fresh couple on screen as the pairing now is between Charmaine Sheh and Alex Fong. Both are very cute and have a good chemistry together in the film despite Alex is younger than Charmaine. I like the pairing which would make the film much enjoyable to watch. Him Law also did quite a good performance as he is the one lying to try to have Charmaine, but Charmaine prefered Alex whom tell truth to her eventhough the truth is unbearable (sleeping with other girls). There are also quite a number of funny moments to laugh at in this film, eventhough some are a bit awkward. Out of 10 points, I can give this one 7.5. Quite a successful Hong Kong film of the year. Hmmm…I think this would be the last Hong Kong film released in 2011 that I have watched.

Movie review: Men Suddenly in Love (2011)

We spent the time during Earth Hour watching this movie, a comedy film by director Wong Jing, whom is famous in directing out-of-sense and crappy films (to be honest). However, I like many of his films as his main objective is just to create funny movies, and he did it quite successfully in almost all his films. I like funny movies and so I’m going for this one too.

Men Suddenly In Love is about five married men (one young and four middle-aged men) being tricked by their suspecting wives whom paid five women to seduce them. This movie is definitely for people aged 18 and above as there are too many, or I should say excessive amount of dirty or yellow-minded things going around in the film. Many of the humorous things from this film came from this source which is only for adults. Don’t think negatively…there is no exposure of explicit things in this film. All the things brought up to attention in this movie is only for entertainment purpose.

So, the story deals with 15 + 1 people. The 15 people are the five husbands, five wives and the five young women used to trick the husbands. The special one added is the old teacher of the 5 husbands who taught them on sex relationship between men and women. So, the story won’t go one-sided; it revolves from one character to another. Hence, it is interesting, as the style of the plot switched on from this to that.

This movie is not really that crappy or nonsense. The story is still logical, and the acting is satisfying by the main casts like Eric Tsang, Chapman To, Maggie Cheung, and even the director himself, Wong Jing. This movie is of course not for kids. Don’t think that middle-aged men can’t give us laughter! It is proven from this movie by their brilliant performance. Some scenes are quite lame…as predicted from a creation by Wong Jing. Out of 10 points, I gave this movie 6.9.

Just back from Sammi’s concert and the coolest pasar malam in Genting!

It’s Saturday night, not a usual night as I am following my dad to Genting Highlands to watch concert by Sammi Cheng, the cantopop queen called as ‘Love Mi More World Tour 2011’. Last year around the same date, I watched her concert too, at the same venue as well, in the Arena of Stars. It seems that Resort World is inviting her for concert every year, and still the venue is flooded with people every year attending her brilliant concert.

She already had the popularity, the name of being the Heavenly Queen in singing industry originating from Hong Kong. Despite reaching age of around 40 already, she is still capable of stunning the entertainment world with new songs, films and concerts unlike the other Heavenly Queens of her time (Faye Wong, Kelly Chen, etc). She is still receiving awards even until these days for her best-selling albums. She is here in Malaysia again, and of course I will not miss the chance of watching her concert despite sitting very far from the stage.

She is my singing idol during my childhood years. I like her songs, especially those slow and romantic love songs by her over a decade ago. Her new songs are not that nice, but still rock the music world. The only thing imperfect on her is her body; she is way too thin with no nice body figure at all. She had the wealth, had the name, but just can’t have the right size. Anyway, she is still beautiful. Her rumours with Andy Hui never ends and there are many people shouting his name to her during the concert. She heard that, and makes no reply to it except by just smiling.

Her concert this time is stunning, a bit better than the one in previous year. Why? It is because she sang a lot of my favourite songs, perhaps favourites to many other audiences too. All these songs dated back more than a decade ago, when she sang it full of energy and emotion. However, for this time she seems to be lacking of energy during singing. Hence, we can’t really hear what she sings, but still can feel the melody as the songs go on. Maybe she is too tired for organizing concerts for two nights in a row.

Her dancing is very good. Can’t believe a woman of such age and with such a thin figure can create a very ‘high’ atmosphere by dancing! This is her power of stealing the whole night. She can still sing while dancing despite lacking of breath. And so, she even lied down and sitting on the stage after those energy-wasting tasks. She talked less this time, with more focus on singing as well as changing her outfits which are a bit too much and unnecessary. People don’t really pay attention to what she wears, we only focused on what would she sings next???! Luckily, her outfits this time turned out to be pretty normal.

The concert started around 8.20 pm, late for twenty minutes and ended around 10.30 pm, taking around two hours. People are shouting and shouting, for encore especially until I really can’t bare the noise. Anyway, the atmosphere is really good and exciting. Her final song is forever the one from the movie ‘Love on a Diet’ with Andy Lau entitled ‘Eternal Beauty’ which everyone hoped for. This is definitely a nice song, but for me, it’s not as nice as compared to some of her other songs. She must be wearing very high-heel shoes; she carefully walked down to the stage through a long series of steps every time after emerging from the top.

Before we went for her concert, me and my dad went to take a walk at the coolest pasar malam (night market) in Malaysia at the outdoor theme park held for a week (just now is the last night) where fireworks is displayed during the concert that does not distract much of the atmosphere in the venue. It is really cool having a pasar malam there in Genting. You won’t feel hot, and you can taste on local delicacies with low prices even in Genting, a city high above a mountain. This kind of event should remained to attract more visitors, or at least on just weekends that puts Malaysian lifestyle as part and parcel of vacation in Genting Highlands.

The visibility dropped to a very minimum level as mist overwhelmed the roads heading back down to the city of Kuala Lumpur. My dad had a hard time driving back home, so I have to stay awake to help him see what’s in front for a right direction. Time to check out the moon, stated to look larger than usual tonight as the distance of the moon to Earth is the closest in 20 years. However, there is nothing much different with the size of the moon seen, with just the light from it seems to be brighter. That’s all. End of the post…a good night at Genting eventhough it comes and goes very quick!
