SAG Awards 2020 ended with a historic win for ‘Parasite’.

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards 2020 had announced its winners on a star-studded ceremony last Sunday. The biggest surprise of the evening was its final prize, the ‘best performance by a cast in a motion picture’ which is won by ‘Parasite’. This is also a news that I very much enjoyed. ‘Parasite’ becomes the first ever foreign language film to win this coveted prize in the history of SAG.

‘Parasite’ isn’t getting any nomination in the individual acting categories and is only nominated for the cast which is the most coveted prize of the night. It managed to win it, defeating presumed frontrunner, ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ and other strong Oscar contenders in the category. Although winner of this prize isn’t quite tally with the Oscar best picture winner as seen in the past decade, but this win for ‘Parasite’ certainly increases its chance at the Academy Awards early next month.

The other 4 acting categories were boring. It is the same set of people winning at every major precursor awards including SAG. So, there isn’t any surprise there and these 4 people (Joaquin Phoenix, Renee Zellweger, Brad Pitt and Laura Dern) can get their Oscar acceptance speech ready by now.

Here below are the full list of winners of the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards in film categories:

Sorry for the other 6 nominees. You are left way behind.
