Winner List of Astro Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards 2008

the results are just being revealed during the recently concluded Astro Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards 2008 in Malaysia…

the artists attended the ceremony are Louise Lee, Susanna Kwan, Shirley Yeung, Tavia Yeung, Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, Raymond Lam, Joe Ma, Linda Chung, Myolie Wu, Jessice Hester Hsuan, Benz Hui, Moses Chan and Loh Kun Lan. This is the awards ceremony in Malaysia with most number of TVB artists attending…all the artists are so beautiful in their appearance especially during the red carpet show, girls with their gowns, boys with their suits…huh..cool…

There are total of 20 awards that have been given in 11 categories. Loh Kun Lan and Benz Hui are the special guests in giving the Favourite Drama award (the biggest award).

 

The awards have been held at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands on 21st February 2009…

7.00pm – 8.00pm: Red carpet show.

8.00pm – 10.30pm: Awards presentation ceremony.

 

The emcees for the day are nat Chan Pak Cheung from Hong Kong, Wong Chui Leng, Vivien Cheuk Wai Kan, Lam Pui Ying from Malaysia.

 

There are many other local guests attending such as the five finalists of Astro Star Quest 2008, three finalists of Miss Astro Chinese Pageants, winner group of Battleground 2008, and many others…Virginia Lok Yee Ling, the higher management TVB representative came to the awards ceremony too…

 

There are also many exciting performances during the awards ceremony such as the separate dance by ECX (winner of Battleground 2008) and the three finalists of Miss Astro Chinese Pageants, short comedy-based drama play by emcees and some TVB artists (Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong, Linda Chung, Louise Lee) while saying some ‘golden words’, Tic Tac dance by the emcees, etc…

 

Bosco Wong, Linda Chung and Raymond Lam also went up to stage to sing their songs such as Love Isn’t Enough by Raymond Lam…then, the five finalists of Astro Star Quest 2008 sang the five finalists of drama’s theme songs..followed by ‘Cannot Say Anything’ by Susanna Kwan Kuk Ying who won the favourite theme song….

 

There are a lot of funny scenes in the awards ceremony…such as when Pui Ying and Chui Leng got a kiss on their face by Raymond Lam..then Vivien jealous but at last, she was being kissed on face by Moses Chan which satisfied every girls (emcees) on stage…another one is when everybody like to say about Vivien’s ‘weight’ and ‘size’ which Vivien doesn’t care about it anyway…

 

There is also a preview of some dramas that will be released in year 2009 on Astro Wah Lai Toi such as Wasabi Mon Amour, The Building Blocks of Life, The Seventh Day, The Silver Chamber of Sorrow, Last One Standing, Moonlight Resonance, Forensic Heroes 2, Wars of In-Laws 2, The Four, etc…the dramas which are now being shown in the channel are Word Twisters Adventure, Men Don’t Cry and Ultimate Crime Fighter and the previously shown Best Bet.

 

There is a similarity with this awards winner with TVB 40th Anniversary Awards 2007..let’s see the similarity:

similar right?,…I think it will be some similarities next year too…so the results of TVB 41st anniversary awards will be almost the same with the next year Astro Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards 2009…

 

the results revealed are satisfying…eventhough I am still disagree with some categories such as Favourite Couple which I think should goes more to Raymond Lam and Charmaine Sheh from Drive of Life, and Favourite Villain in which I prefer Sammul Chan from Price of Greed. Others, all are good…they deserved the awards which look like a model of an old TV…

 

The fifthe year Astro Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards had concluded….let’s wait for next year to come, will be bigger and more grand and expecting more TVB artists and competitions between them to come….
