Alert! Beware of swine flu!

Attention to all readers of my blog:

Beware and be careful of the recent outbreak of swine flu!

Started from Mexico, the virus spread deadly to United States of America as well as European countries, Brazil, Canada and even New Zealand.

The flu is a unique version of A/H1N1 virus that is combination of bird, pig and human viruses. It is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A strains of influenza virus. It do affects people when he or she is on close proximity or in contact with infected pigs or contaminated areas. Infected human can transfer to another human too.

Symptoms: regular flu, fever, lethargy, runny nose, coungh, sore throat, lack of appetite, vomitting, diarrhoea.

Eventhough swine influenza viruses are not transmitted through food, but  eating properly-handled and cooked pork is safe, cooking over 70 degree celsius of pork will kill the viruses.

Many international airports around the world had set up preventive measures to prevent the viruses to spread to other countries. Those infected will be quarantined and treated immediately!

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared swine flu as a public health emergency of  ‘pandemic potential’.

Malaysia

One person “under close observation” as possibly suffering from swine flu. Health minister, Liow Tiong Lai, has said it is not yet a suspected case because lab tests are still being done.

This is really scaring now, as now the swine flu is available in Malaysia, my country!!! Aaah!!

UPDATED (30th April 2009)

World Health Organization (WHO) has raised the swine flu threat level to level 5, the last step before a full pandemic. This is due to the first death case reported due to swine flu outside Mexico, which is in USA.

Malaysia

The 15 people who admitted to hospital are suspected of cholera, not swine flu, health authorities have confirmed.

Giving me not much worry back! Huh!

===================================================

Almost the same with the previous outbreak of SARS that began from Hong Kong (Asian), this one of swine flu began from Mexico (Western). Luckily, there is no sign of any swine flu in Malaysia yet….hope there is NONE!!! Really dangerous! Horrible! Terrifying!

It makes me avoiding food which have pork in it again….for those who are at possible infected area, just stay at home, don’t eat pork, wear masks no matter you are in indoor or at outdoor, locked all doors and windows, and read my blog! And you will be surely safe!

Protect yourself, and everybody protect themselves, and finally no more outbreak! Then back to normal! —————————————————
