The past weekend: ‘Avengers 2’ twice, finished a drama, and went to Genting.
The title of this post basically sums up the things I have done or been through for the past weekend. I have been going through a mixture of feelings after these few days; excited, happy and also sad. Just weird. The following will explains why I am in that state, and hence as a warning here, if you are bored of this particular post I used to explain unnecessary stuff, then kindly skip off this one and proceed to the other interesting posts below. Haha…
For the first ‘Avengers’ movie back in 2012, I watched that once in the cinema. And now, its sequel; Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is released. And amazingly, I watched it in the cinema twice. Why? Because it is really that good and worth my money and time to go for second round. Wait? Does that mean I’m going to watch the next instalment ‘Avengers 3: Infinity Wars (Part 1 and 2) for three times? Wow…maybe. This is the time when the ‘comfortable success’ from the popular ‘Fast and Furious 7’ is going to be overtaken by Avengers: Age of Ultron. Everybody loves superheroes.
Up next, I did managed to finish a TVB series that had concluded its running yesterday. It’s a Hong Kong drama entitled ‘Romantic Repertoire’. This series gave me chance to learn new vocabulary. ‘Repertoire’? What is that? Ohh…it means ‘a stock of plays, dances, or pieces that a company or a performer knows or is prepared to perform’. Okay…that is somehow related to the series that centered on Cantonese opera and also on interior design. Two people from totally different working and lifestyle background gets in conflict and misunderstanding but later blossomed to a close relationship after a series of events that are captured in this 21-episode drama.
The series starred Moses Chan, Joyce Koi, Louise Lee, Jason Chan, Katy Kung, Evergreen Mak, Susan Tse, Oceane Zhu, etc. It’s a light drama to fill out my spare time every night on weekdays with no high expectation. So, I take it lightly; it’s still an entertaining series but as it develops further, it lacks drama and intensity. Nothing exciting or engaging. It is getting boring as it progresses but luckily, it’s just a short series. So, no major harm. Out of 10 points, I rate ‘Romantic Repertoire’ a total of 6.9.
As informed to you in my earlier post, I went up to Genting Highlands the last weekend and just returned home today to watch a concert by Sammi Cheng, a famous female Hong Kong singer whom is regarded as the Cantopop queen. Enjoyed her show, and I spent few hundred bucks for it. But that’s not bad compared to another many hundred bucks lost to Genting in casino. No luck was with me this time. I should have left when I won a bit in the beginning. The desire to continue caused me to lose and lose and lose. Haiz…nevermind, I treat it as a huge donation for Genting to further develop themselves. And yes, they are really developing now. The world’s first 20th Century Fox Theme Park is set to open next year (hopefully) at Genting and new hotel block is currently under construction.
