List of films I have watched in 2014 and my picks of the best films of the year.

It’s the time of the year again for me to list down how many of the films released this year that I have watched, ranging from Hollywood to Hong Kong movies, and also one Malaysian film in 2014. I believed most of the films listed below would have my personal movie review for it here in my blog of which you can search easily for it if you want to.

Outstanding performances by an actor:

Outstanding performances by an actress:

: Jack O’Connell (Unbroken, ’71)

: Miles Teller (Divergent, Whiplash)

Also not to forget some Hong Kong films of the year that I have watched.

Nothing outstanding from any of the Hong Kong films I have watched this year. By the way, I have also watched one local (Malaysian) Chinese film. The film eventually became the highest grossing local film, and for me, also considered a giant leap for Malaysian cinema.

So, as of current (updated – February 2015), the total number of films released this year that I have watched is at 55. That is over my earlier target of 50. Great!

Last but not least, I would like to wish Happy Winter Solstice Festival to all Chinese! This festival that falls on 22 December (today) every year, also known as Dongzhi Festival is never complete without having a bowl of tangyuan (balls of glutinous rice) that symbolises reunion. Have you had yours already?
