What a long list. ‘Gravity’ and ‘American Hustle’ led the pack with 10 nominations each, while hot favourite for ‘Best Picture’, ’12 Years A Slave’ came with 9 nominations. ‘Captain Phillips’ earned 6 nominations too, but surprisingly not included in ‘Best Leading Actor’ category for Tom Hanks and ‘Best Director’ category while Barkhad Adi successfully earned a spot in ‘Best Supporting Actor’ category. ‘Nebraska’ and ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ also earned 6 nominations respectively. ‘Her’ and ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ had 5 nominations each. And one surprise from this list is that ‘The Grandmaster’ (a Hong Kong film) had two nominations (in Best Cinematography and Best Costume Design), but not nominated in Best Foreign Language Film. What’s your favourite picks?
