MTV Movie Awards 2012

The annual MTV Movie Awards returned! This year’s biggest winner is ‘The Hunger Games’ released early this year and was on time to be included on this year’s MTV movie awards’ nominations, not wanting to wait almost another year for the awards presentation. Too bad, the movie still had to wait a year for Oscars, the most prestigious motion picture awards. Eventhough ‘The Hunger Games’ is the biggest winner of the night, ‘Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1’ won the ‘movie of the year’ award and I’m not surprised of that since the result is determined by online public voting, and that this film had a very strong fanbase. Too bad, I’m not one of them, and I didn’t even watch any single film from its franchise.

Here below is the full result of the award:

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson as the two main casts in the famous film ‘The Hunger Games’ are both awarded respectively in best male and female performance. I believe there shall be many others who are much more deserving than them. But since this award is mainly determined by people of younger demographic, it must be them to win! I personally like both of them in ‘The Hunger Games’ and they did quite a good performance in the film. Jennifer who has been nominated in Oscars before already had a strong presence in the film industry. Now, the new star is Josh, who rise to fame recently after starring in ‘The Hunger Games’ and ‘Journey to the Mysterious Island’ with both released early this year. Johnny Depp won MTV Generation Award. That’s cool for him. He deserved to be awarded after so many years of involvement in film industry and extremely dynamic portrayal in any films.

I have no comment for those categories that are won by ‘Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1’. Luckily, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ won an award for the best cast. Well, at least the epic conclusion of this famous franchise would not go back empty-handed. Notable moment during the awards’ show came from “Batman” star Christian Bale, who gave an emotional introduction to an exclusive trailer for the upcoming film, “The Dark Knight Rises,” after footage of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker character was shown from the second installment of the Christopher Nolan “Batman” franchise. The final instalment to the Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise would be released next month.
