Sudirman Cup for China once again for a number of 8 times record!
Sorry for a bit of delay of publish of this post regarding the result of the final match between China and Denmark team to win the Sudirman Cup 2011 held in Qingdao, China. I had to rush for my assignment yesterday’s night and so I can only write this post now, which is many hours later (still in less than a day…). Despite busy with my assignment’s deadline, I still give myself some time to watch some of the games of the final broadcasted live in Astro Supersport.
Denmark is seen as no match to the much stronger and experienced team of China which had taken the championship for seven times previously. The other teams that have won this championship is Indonesia and Korea. Where is Malaysia? In many times in such world mixed team championship, Malaysia would be easily defeated due to the apparent weaknesses from the female badminton players. The country do not have a whole elite team of badminton players, currently depending only on world number one, Lee Chong Wei to grab a point or two.
On this year’s Sudirman Cup, Malaysia cannot even grab a place in semi final, losing out 2 – 3 to better South Korean team in quarter final match, thanks to the girls with their lack of strength and skills. Malaysia’s biggest achievement on this championship held every two years is on the previous meeting, when the nation succeeded in going to semi final stage. It’s really time to sort out what to do with those same girls playing on badminton court for many years with not much improvement or professionalism seen.
It is a bit shocking when I heard that Denmark gets a place into the final. It is quite unbelievable, looking at the current status of this country in badminton world, and it is even poorer than Malaysian team. If it’s Malaysia versus Denmark in the final, then Malaysia would have a better and greater chance to win the cup! It’s just my dream, as China is the dominant nation in this sport. Congratulation for the Denmark team for getting into the final, it’s their biggest achievement already despite losing out to the mighty China. China always stand in front like a Great Wall, a strong barrier that is unbroken with many opponents from other countries. The country forever emerged as the top in badminton sport.
And yes, they proved it again with their easy win of 3 – 0 over Denmark last night to grab their 8th Sudirman Cup title. Congratulation to China once again! Their players are really very talented and skillful. For Malaysian team, try your best next time!
